My Mother 5 yrs old
1945~I know she is my mother, but I think she is so cute if I say so myself!
My mom had no other siblings, so she played allot with friends in the same neighborhood.. she is still friends with them till this day. I think that is so neat. My father was the only child too...so I have NO cousins........now, isn't that weird?

Alline~1934
This is Alline, my 'pony" grandpa other sister. She was the middle child. I don't know much about her neither, but what my mother had told me, she was the aunt that everyone loved. She was fun and corky in her own little way.
She got married also to a banker(we had allot of bankers in our family back then) worked out of St. Louis and went on to have 4 children, but one child died several hours after birth...so sad! They stayed in St. Louis their whole lives. She lived until age 72. My mom thinks she died after having a hard time recovering from an illness she had ealier.
I just love the hat! don't you?
Emmie 1930
This is My 'pony" grandfathers sister (my mothers aunt) Emmie. I don't know about her personally, but from what my mom told me, she married her high school sweetheart which later got killed in the war. She got re-married many years later to a banker and they had 2 children together named Carl and Elizabeth. She died at age 68!
My mom said she was a quit person and to herself, so my mom never got real close to her as an aunt. When she got re-married she married into wealth (a bankers family)and moved off to NY. They didn't see much of her after she moved.

Freemans~1950
I just love this pictures of my mother and grandparents. We call(ed) these grandparents Pony grandpa and Pony grandma. They always had horse when we were growing up. When we were kids we would ask what grandparents we were going to visit, So our parents would reply, Pony Grandma. So this how they got their name.
Frank worked as a meter reader, and did until he passed when I was about 8..I think. He was such a great grandpa. He called me the apple of his eye. I think this was because my parents had my 3 siblings so close together, and had me 8 yrs later and I was like a new novelty around there. I have so many memories of my grandfather singing to me in the stables....Thanksgiving he would always put me on his lap and sing "Thanksgiving coming the turkeys getting fat, please put the penny in the old mans hat." we would do this for hours.
Grace was a stay at home mom. She is a great grandma. I have many memories of her. We hung around her house allot after my dad died. I always thought her house was so neat. She had old farm hurricane lights and loved quilts. We would play games until we couldn't keep our eyes open on a small card table in this sun room they had. This is the only grandmother I have living today. She lives with my mother, and still at 86 does very well.

My father at age 3~1942
My mother at Age 3~1943
My Mother 1957
This is my beautiful mother Carol Grace her senior yr. She is an awesome lady. My mother is what every mother should be. She was a stay at home mom of 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. She was like a June Clever type mom. The house always smelled like Pine Sol when you came home from school. Cookies were always made. She never raised her voice at us. She has never smoked, drank, or said an ill word to anyone. Always there no matter what the problem was. I hope I can be 1/2 the mom she is.
Having lost her husband(my dad) and was left 5 children to take care of, I would have to put her up there next to a Saint! I wonder now that I'm married with children how she ever got through those days. My father was a hard worker...so that help when he passed away, because she was able to take care of us, and not have to go out and work for a living with 5 children, instead she was able to continue to stay at home with her kids. I'm sure this lifted a heavy burden on her in such a difficult time.
She got re-married many yrs. later and still is to this day. She is not only a great mother but a wonderful grandmother now to 29+ grandchildren and great grandchildren.
(I think in this pictures she looks like a Hollywood movie star..Thank God she wasn't though.)
My Father 1956
This is my handsome father Richard Carl his senior yr.
Right out of high school my father was drafted into the Air Force for 6 month. He came home after 6 months to marry my mom Carol. He then landed his first official job at UE and after many, many yrs. became VP of that company. My father died and such a young age, he never got to see any of us grow up as adults, see his grandchildren, our weddings, graduations, etc. He was the greatest dad in the world. It's sad to me that his life was so short. He would have been a great grandfather to so many grandchildren(20+). It gives me allot of happiness knowing we will all be together one day though. Miss ya dad!
